Our May 18th  meeting begins at 10:00 a.m. at Little Falls Presbyterian Church, 6025 Little Falls Rd, Arlington includes prepping for our May 16 FLOWER SHOW!!  It’s open to the public at 1:00 p.m. – all are welcome!  Here Comes The Sun – A Tribute to the Fab Four!  And a tour of Scotland with club members Anita Brown and Thea McGinnis. Laughter included.

We have many things to be thankful for as we end 2023.  Two weeks ago, despite the weather, Rock Spring Garden Club members held our Floral Design sale just in time to deck homes for Thanksgiving.  We cannot thank enough all the club members who helped us in multiple capacities, and our customers who came out in the rain and bought a design or two.  The funds raised go directly to our community outreach programs that include youth garden therapy programs, junior gardeners, 4-H summer camp scholarships and senior outreach.

Our December meeting is a members-only Holiday tea.  And you could join us next year if you consider becoming a member of Rock Spring Garden Club.  We are an active community organization that aligns with National Garden Clubs Inc. and our club is an active part of National Capital Area Garden Clubs, Inc. District III AND Virginia Federation of Garden Clubs, Inc. Piedmont District.  Membership affords us access to four NGC Schools with certification, symposiums, garden conferences, tours, field trips, flower shows, and continuous educational opportunities that focus on horticulture, landscape, environmental concerns and floral design.  If you have a sincere interest in any of these topics, Rock Spring Garden Club might be the organization for you.  Feel free to explore our website and contact us via email [email protected]

While we don’t have a regular business meeting in October, prospective NEW MEMBERS are always welcome!  If you have a sincere interest in gardening, horticulture, floral design and community service, Rock Spring Garden Club might be a great organization for you to join. Rock Spring Garden Club welcomed National Garden Club Master Judge and Floral Designer Betty Ann Galway to our September meeting with a review of NGC Designs we are incorporating into our Spring NGC Standard Flower Show.  Betty also reviewed mechanics and gave examples of how judges would critique show designs and gave members of the audience many tips and ideas for designs.

Rock Spring Garden Club has taken up the Trex Plastic Film Recycling Program this year!

Over the last two years, twenty-four plus clubs from Virginia Federated Garden Clubs (VFGC) have earned a minimum of one garden bench for collecting and recording 500 pounds of plastic film during a six-month period.  We are joining several other clubs in the VFGC Piedmont District in this challenge!

Rock Spring Garden Club returned on Thursday, September 21, 2023 with a wonderful meeting and design program by award winning designer and NGC Accredited Master Judge, Betty Ann Galway.

There’s lots going on this Fall, and we are welcoming new members! We aren’t having our usual meeting in June – we are having a new officer installation at Rock Spring Park and a member garden tour.  Congratulations to our newly elected slate of officers.  We begin our next club year on Thursday, September 21,2023. Until then, have a wonderful gardening summer.
