It’s June! Thank you for visiting and supporting Rock Spring Garden Club!  May was a wonderful month, gardening-wise, and our Poetry In The Garden NGC Horticulture Specialty Flower Show was a big success.  This month’s meeting – and our last meeting until September –  is a field trip to Mount Vernon with a special garden tour by their horticulturist, Dean Norton, followd by lunch at the Mount Vernon Inn.  Whether you are local or an out of town visitor to the greater D.C. area, Mount Vernon is a must-see.  And do click our Resources tab above comprehensive list of gardens in the area to visit.

Thursday, May 16, 2019 is going to be a very busy day for our members because it’s our flower show day!!  That’s right!  “Poetry in the Garden” An NGC Horticulture Specialty Flower Show s finally here. In lieu of our typical general meeting that begins at 10 a.m., our members will be setting up and entering hort specimens in our flower show that morning. After judging, the show will be OPEN TO THE PUBLIC at 2:00 p.m., at Little Falls Presbyterian Church, 6025 Little Falls Rd, Arlington.  Please join us!!  For more details, please read our MAY GARDENZETTE!  Spring, for all garden clubs, is a very busy time!

RSGC’s NGC Horticulture Speciality Flower Show – Mark your calendar!
April 10, 2019

RSGC is hosting what we hope to be a fantastic NGC Horticulture Speciality Show on Thursday, May 16, 2019. Our show, Poetry in the Garden, opens to the public at 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.  – it’s free and open to the public so please stop by at Little Falls Presbyterian Church Lower Level Friendship Hall 6025 Little Falls Road Arlington, VA 22207.  Parking is at the rear of the church.

We guarantee some of the best Arlington County Horticulture specimens blooming this May, including perennials, bulbs, trees, shrubs and so much more. Plus temporary gardens and photography!

April 2019 General Meeting – with Guest Speaker Tom Rainer!

Our next meeting is Thursday, April 18, 2019 beginning at 10:00 a.m. with our business meeting and at 11:00 a.m. our Program, Functional and Resilient Landscapes with Tom Rainer.

Tom is an author and Principal, Phyto Studio, Washington, DC; and is a registered landscape architect and a leading voice in ecological landscape design who has designed for the U.S. Capitol and New York Botanic gardens.  RSGC is a fan of Tom and we are thrilled to have him with us.

Guests and perspective members are very welcome to attend our program, which is free and open to the public. Following our meeting is a delicious lunch and if you’d like to stay and join us, please RSVP to rockspringgardenclub@gmail.com

March General Meeting – Thursday, March 21, 2019, 10:00 a.m.

Happy March!  We have a really good speaker for our March general meeting – Kathy Jentz, Editor and Publisher of Washington Gardener Magazine and a wonderful gardener in her own right.  Kathy will be speaking to us about gardening in the shade and resources for understory planting.

Our meeting begins at 10:00 a.m. and our program at 11:00 a.m., followed by lunch.  Our meeting is free and open to the public.  Guests are welcome! Do please RSVP if you are attending and would like to join us for lunch at rockspringgardenclub@gmail.com  Our meeting is at Little Falls Presbyterian Church, 6025 Little Falls Road, Arlington, VA 22207.

Our next general meeting will be held on Thursday, February 21, 2019. Our meeting is free and open to the public. Interested in joining a garden club?  Let us know!

Rock Spring Garden Club’s meeting begins at 10:00 a.m. at Little Falls Presbyterian Church, Lower level Friendship Hall, 6026 Little Falls Road, Arlington, VA 22207. Be sure to check out our Horticulture, Design exhibits and so much more! Our speaker’s presentation will begin at 11:00 a.m.  Stay for lunch!  A delicious warm lunch will be served immediately after the program and guests are very welcome to join us. We ask for a small donation.  Please RSVP your attendance and if you are staying for lunch by emailing us at rockspringgardenclub@gmail.com
