It’s Garden of the Year time!  Garden of the Year is Rock Spring Garden Club’s program to promote beautification by recognizing exceptional homeowner gardens in Arlington County.  The entry pool is closed for this year’s contest, and our astute judges have already evaluated the nominated gardens.  The winners will be announced at our June 12 club meeting.  Our meetings are free and open to the public, but please RSVP to [email protected].
However, we are already accepting applications for the 2015 program.  If you would like to enter your garden, a neighbor’s garden or a garden you’ve long admired in your travels around our lovely neighborhoods, please do using this year’s form.  There is no reason to wait until the deadline (currently April 30, 2015) for the 2015 contest.
We reserve the right to close the 2015 applicant pool as early as September 30, 2014, or whenever have we received a sufficient number of quality entries.  If you have any questions, just email us at [email protected].  You may email your entry form to that address, OR mail it to the address provided at the bottom of the first page of the entry form.

RSGC’s Holiday Floral Design Event – very well received

Rock Spring Garden Club’s 2013 Holiday Floral Design Event was a success – thanks to you –  our members and guests.

What’s great about this education event is that even though our attendees may not be able join a garden club because of other commitments, they are still passionately interested in learning the mechanics of floral design so that they can express their artistic interpretations of the natural beauty that surrounds us into their homes – during the holidays and all year long.

This year our tickets were sold out!  Thank you very much to the Arlington County public and surrounding communities for joining us for this event. Profits from our entrance fee and sales go to support our new and continuing community outreach programs and civic projects.

And big thanks to club member and designer Sheila Moore and  Washington DC floral designer Sarah Von Pollaro, for sharing their expertise and love of floral design with our members and our public.   For more information about our exciting event, check out this article with photos in the Sun Gazette:
