Our next meeting is Thursday, April 18, 2019 beginning at 10:00 a.m. with our business meeting and at 11:00 a.m. our Program, Functional and Resilient Landscapes with Tom Rainer.
Tom is an author and Principal, Phyto Studio, Washington, DC; and is a registered landscape architect and a leading voice in ecological landscape design who has designed for the U.S. Capitol and New York Botanic gardens. RSGC is a fan of Tom and we are thrilled to have him with us.
Guests and perspective members are very welcome to attend our program, which is free and open to the public. Following our meeting is a delicious lunch and if you’d like to stay and join us, please RSVP to [email protected]

Happy March! We have a really good speaker for our March general meeting – Kathy Jentz, Editor and Publisher of Washington Gardener Magazine and a wonderful gardener in her own right. Kathy will be speaking to us about gardening in the shade and resources for understory planting.
Our meeting begins at 10:00 a.m. and our program at 11:00 a.m., followed by lunch. Our meeting is free and open to the public. Guests are welcome! Rock Spring Garden Club’s meeting begins at 10:00 a.m. at Little Falls Presbyterian Church, Lower level Friendship Hall, 6026 Little Falls Road, Arlington, VA 22207. Be sure to check out our Horticulture, Design exhibits and so much more! Our speaker’s presentation will begin at 11:00 a.m. Stay for lunch! A delicious warm lunch will be served immediately after the program and guests are very welcome to join us. We ask for a small donation. We look forward to our guest speaker, Drew Asbury, Horticulturist and Garden Manager of Hillwood Museum and Gardens in Washington, D.C. Mr. Asbury will speak about the Hillwood Estate’s cutting garden and adding cut flowers to your own garden plantings. Rock Spring Garden Club wishes you and yours a wonderful Holiday Season 2018. Our December activity is a club member-only Holiday Tea at a member’s home. We all get together and decorate the home with decorations and floral designs. It’s a wonderful time to visit each other and enjoy some fabulous seasonal goodies.

Please join us for our next general membership meeting of Rock Spring Garden Club, on Thursday, November 15, 2018 at Little Falls Presbyterian Church, 6025 Little Falls Road, Arlington, Virginia 22207
Guests and perspective members are very welcome to join us. We do ask that you RSVP your attendance at our meeting and if you’d like to stay for lunch, great (we ask for a small donation) to [email protected]
The business portion of our meeting begins at 10:00 a.m., followed by a break to visit our horticulture and design exhibitions, our Ways & Means display, and visit. At 11:00 a.m. our program begins with an exciting design presentation, followed by lunch.
Our speaker, Ellen Seagraves, will demonstrate the high style that defines her Chic Floral Designs in Bethesda, MD. She will create an evolving tablescape, showing how one can elaborate on a theme from one great arrangement, adding in more and more, to create something fantastic.
Ellen has a BFA in Weaving and Textile Design and often incorporates elements of those disciplines in her work along with Ikebana. Her arrangements have graced the White House and the Blair House among other prominent addresses.
