Our November meeting will be busy. In addition to our monthly horticulture and design exhibits, we have a Way and Means table full of interesting items and floral supplies – lots of stocking stuffers and gifts at this month’s table,  Our speaker this month is Master Gardener, Joe Larson, who will give us the dirt-less scoop on the world of Hydroponics.  

Our meeting begins with coffee at social time at 9:30 a.m., followed by a short business meeting.  Then our Program followed by a yummy lunch,  Join us!

Arlene will demonstrate floral designs and focus on clever mechanics. Thursday, March 20, 2025, 10:00 a.m. – You’re invited to join us for our March meeting and program.  The topic is Spring Ephemerals. Our guest speaker is Carol Allen, Agent Associate at the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources at the University of Maryland.

It’s bring a friend month at Rock Spring Garden Club! If you have a sincere interest in horticulture and floral design, we’d love to call you friend and join us! Last month, we took a field trip to the National Cathedral’s Bishop’s Gardens to kick of our club year – it was great!  So, technically, this is oue first meeting of the year.  And guess what? We have a wonderful designer and judge and a good friend to RSGC, Kathy Ward.

Kathy is an NGC Accredited Life Judge, member of the Richmond Design Guild, and a member of Salisbury Garden Club, joins us for a Design Demonstration and Workshop. Kathy will design a creative line mass and a creative line design, showing us the difference between both designs. She will also discuss petite designs and monochromatic designs. Mark your calendar! National Capital Dahlia Society Show 9/28-29/2024 and stem sale after the show on Sunday. The horticulture will leave you in awe and artistic designs in the “Hats Off to You…” theme classes will inspire you.

Fun additional fact – there is Brookside  yoga class that Saturday morning, 9:30 AM.  After your beautiful and relaxing session, take a nice long walk around the grounds, pack a picnic, then head into the show.  Sounds like a pretty perfect day!
